About The Trainer Shed
Singapore's only regular community tournament organiser using official Pokémon VGC & TCG rules — plus Pokkén and fun side formats.
Our Mission
The Trainer Shed exists to provide a community and space for aspiring World Champions to interact, practice, and improve — all before the official VGC Nationals in Singapore.
We are the only Pokémon tournament organiser in Singapore that regularly hosts community tournaments using official VGC (Video Game Championships) and TCG (Trading Card Game) rules. We also run Pokkén Tournament DX events in partnership with Pokken Singapore, and occasionally host fun side formats like Z-A Ranked Battles.
Our VGC events now run on Pokémon Champions (Regulation M-C), and we're keeping an eye on Pokémon Wind and Waves (announced for 2027). When the official circuit moves to a new title, our events move with it.
Our tournaments follow the Swiss pairing system with Top Cut elimination brackets — the same format used at official Pokémon Regional and International Championships worldwide. Nobody is knocked out during the Swiss rounds, so you play every round whatever your record.
VGC Tournaments
Regular Video Game Championships events using the latest official ruleset. Battle on Nintendo Switch with the current competitive format.
TCG Tournaments
Trading Card Game tournaments for all skill levels. Bring your deck, battle in Swiss rounds, and compete for the top cut.
Community
A community as much as a tournament series. Players stick around after their rounds to run practice sets and talk teams.

We also host Pokkén Tournament DX events in partnership with Pokken Singapore, plus fun side formats like Z-A Ranked Battles.
Official *SCAPE Partner
The Trainer Shed has been an official *SCAPE partner since 2022. *SCAPE is Singapore's national youth organisation and cultural hub at Somerset, running creative and entrepreneurial programmes for young people.
Through our partnership, we host our tournaments at *SCAPE, providing an accessible and central venue for the Pokémon community in Singapore. Their support is what keeps our events central and easy to get to.

Our partner for all things Pokkén Tournament DX. Pokken Singapore helps us organise and run Pokkén events, bringing the fighting game community together with the wider Pokémon competitive scene.
