Pokémon TCG

The Pokémon Trading Card Game — build your deck, draw your hand, and battle your way to the top.

What is Pokémon TCG?

The Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) is the official competitive card game where players build 60-card decks and battle using Pokémon, Trainer, and Energy cards. It's one of the world's most popular competitive card games with an active tournament circuit.

At The Trainer Shed, we run Standard format TCG tournaments following official TPCi rules, open to players at any level.

Players compete in Swiss rounds followed by a Top Cut bracket — the same structure used at League Cups, Regional Championships, and the Pokémon World Championships.

Format Rules

  • Best-of-1 in Swiss rounds (50 min + 3 turns)
  • Best-of-3 in Top Cut

  • Standard rotation updates as new sets release

What to Bring

  • Your 60-card Standard format deck
  • Deck sleeves (required, matching)

  • Coin or dice for coin flips
  • Written / Printed deck list

TCG in Singapore & Worlds

The Standard format we play at The Trainer Shed is the same one used across the official Play! Pokémon circuit, right up to the 2027 Pokémon World Championships, hosted in Singapore. Playing Standard locally is a direct way to work toward Championship Points and a Worlds invite.

Sanctioned events in Singapore run at certified Gym shops across the island. You can browse every participating shop and its upcoming tournaments on the official Pokémon Trainers Website:
