Live Format — Regulation M-A

Pokémon Champions

The current competitive Pokémon game — now running on Regulation M-A, with The Trainer Shed events live in Singapore.

What is Pokémon Champions?

Pokémon Champions was released by The Pokémon Company in April 2026 and has become the primary game for VGC (Video Game Championships) competitive play, succeeding Pokémon Scarlet & Violet as the standard competitive title.

The game runs on both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, with mobile device versions planned for a later date. Across the global competitive scene, official Regional Championships, International Championships, and the Pokémon World Championships are now being played on Champions.

The current official ruleset is Regulation M-A — Double Battle, level-set to 50, with the standard species and item clauses. Two big mechanical shifts versus Scarlet & Violet: Terastallization is gone, and Mega Evolution is back as the format's once-per-battle gimmick (59 Megas legal, Mega Stones are held items). Singapore's Master Ball League (23–24 May 2026) is being run as open team sheet, per TPC's confirmation.
